Word Of The Day DEPT.

tauroboly 1. The slaughter of a bull or bulls; specifically, a pagan sacrifice of a bull in honor of Cybele, with its attendant rites, including a bath in bulls' blood. 2. The representation of such a slaughter or sacrifice in sculpture, etc.
Example:  It was Tauroboly Time and the Pagans had misplaced their sacrificial bull.  Glumly, one pagan suggested the CMMDR as a replacement.  After much heated discussion among the pagans the idea was nixed, with one particularly irked Pagan shreiking "To smear the good name of TAUROBOLY with the blood of the CMMDR would really piss CYBELE off! Did you see Him on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS as Nelson McGinnis?? "
