NEWS FLASH Dept.

Berlin (CNN) -- The CMMDR's television work post-Star Trek  is now considered the likely source for an E. coli outbreak that has killed 22 people, officials said Sunday.  Gert Lindemann, agricultural minister of Lower Saxony, said there is a "direct link" between "the character of Newsom Kirk on THE MENTALIST" and "these people getting sick." ALL Televisions in the area have been shut down and a curfew has been instituted. It is not immediately clear how the E. coli strain may have jumped off the t.v. screen while the CMMDR was "acting".  However, Sprouts are bred in large drums and The CMMDR is known to eat Potatoes out of large drums.  Coincidence?
No E. coli has been found in the work of the Ensign. Authorities say the infection may have taken place too long ago to be found in the ESIGN Himself, even though his age is given as "before time".
Two workers at an agricultural company, which was not identified, have come down with severe cases of diarrhea; in at least one of those cases they had seen re-runs of "Eli Stone".
