THERE IS SOME CONFUSION IN CHINA...

In the Americas he is all but overlooked, but thanks to his appearance in the thriller "Red Corner"-- a film embraced in China for its sensitive portrayal of its legal system, in which Richard Gere, without speaking the language, single-handedly kicks Chinese ass and reduces the prosecution to rubble -- Lil' Buddy is a household name to billions of moviegoers in the People's Republic.

American moviegoers know Lil' Buddy is just his stage-name. His real name is MacGill, he just calls himself Lil', and everyone knows him as Nancy.

But in China, there is some confusion. Since surnames traditionally come first in China, and given names second, it is believed that Lil' Buddy is part of a show business dynasty.

It is commonly assumed that Lil' Buddy's brother is Lil' Bow Wow:

...and that their mother is Lil' Hellman:

....who wrote Lil' Foxes:

...which will soon be remade in a version for BET, starring Lil' Kim:

...a film in which there are, of course, no parts for Lil' Buddy.
